RRDSB Statement regarding EQAO Grade 9 Math Assessment

Yesterday, the Minister of Education announced that the decision with respect to the administration of the EQAO Grade 9 Math Assessment for Semester One would be left to individual school boards. Students in the Rainy River District School Board will not be participating in the EQAO Grade 9 Math Assessment this January.

SP100
FFHS students tackle firefighting program

For the past few months, some students at Fort Frances High School have been taking part in a unique learning experience designed to give them valuable real world experience. The school, in partnership with the Fort Frances Fire Management Headquarters (FMH) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), has run a specialized version of the SP100 Forest Firefighter Training course.

School Climate Survey
School Climate Survey for Parents/Guardians 2019

We are inviting parents/guardians of students in Grades 4-12 to fill out a school climate survey to help schools gain insight into parent/guardian perceptions of school safety. The survey also assists in making informed decisions and plans to help promote safe and inclusive schools and student health and well-being. The survey is open until January 10, 2020.

Please fill out the survey to share your thoughts with us on the proposed school year calendar, including the start and end dates, PD days, etc. Your feedback is then taken to the Regional School Year Calendar Committee comprised of the CSDC des Aurores Boreales, Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, Kenora Catholic District School Board, Northwest Catholic District School Board and Rainy River District School Board. The survey closes November 29, 2019.
