Background
The FFHS Travel Club began in 2011 with the idea of offering students the opportunity to travel, regardless of their involvement in other clubs and extracurricular activities. Travel is a rewarding educational experience that the FFHS Travel Club hopes to offer to all students who meet the criteria for travelling with the group.
Basic Criteria for Student Travellers
Students who are interested in joining the Travel Club must meet and adhere to the following criteria:
- Be a grade 11, 12, or a returning grade 12 student in the year of travel.
- Maintain a grade of 65% or better in all FFHS courses.
- Acquire consent and references from current teachers, as well as past chaperones and coaches to determine eligibility to travel with the Travel Club.
- Have a genuine interest in the educational opportunity of travel.
- Attendance at and participation in all Travel Club meetings.
- No suspensions from the time of joining the Travel Club to the time of departure.
- Regular attendance in all classes.
- Have no outstanding assignments prior to departure.
- Follow the Student Code of Conduct as outlined in the FFHS Student Handbook both before departure and while on the trip.
- Submit all payments on time.
- Participation in possible fundraising events.
- Any students not following this criteria may not be eligible to travel with the Travel Club, or may be removed from the trip if initially signed up—this includes time before departure, as well as during the trip (as in you’ll be sent home on an airplane at your parents’ expense).
