COVID-19 Protocols

October 5, 2021

Dear parents and guardians,

Now that we are a month into the 2021-22 school year, I would like to thank families for your cooperation as we welcomed students back to school for another year with COVID-19 protocols in place. Both students and staff are readjusting to in-person classes and it is a pleasure to see students reconnecting and learning.

However, with a heightened risk of COVID-19 in parts of our District,  we will be increasing measures for all schools from Fort Frances to Rainy River for the next two weeks.  These measures involve:

  • Strongly recommending masking for JK/SK students
  • Requiring masking outdoors for Gr.1-12 students and for staff when physical distancing cannot be maintained
  • Restricting in person staff meetings, school assemblies, and school visitors
  • Reinforcing the importance of hand washing when sharing materials and before and after eating
  • Keeping students in their cohorts as much as possible on the playground, within cafeterias, etc.
  • Moving as much of physical education programming outdoors as possible

We are taking these measures to help ensure the safety of our staff and students and to be able to keep our students in school learning. Families are reminded to use the provincial School Screening tool – – each day before their child(ren) attend school and to follow the recommendations provided.

For all classes, teachers have set up a Google Classroom so students can continue with their learning, if away. If at any time a student is away due to illness, work will be provided through this virtual classroom.

Working together, we will do everything we can to ensure that the 2021-22 school year is a success and that all students are well-supported.
